Mexico's FEMSA opens Oxxo store in Texas

Mexico's FEMSA Comercio, the operator of convenience chain stores Oxxos, has kicked off operations of its first store in the United States at Eagle Pass, Texas.

The new store however, is not part of the company's growth strategy in the U.S., and there are no further plans to open more stores there, said Juan De Vere Rangel, FEMSA regional director.

"We only opened the store as a concept test," the company said.
