Mexico's Sigma gets approval to buy Campofrio

Wednesday, January 29, 2014

The European Commission approved the purchase of Spanish food company Campofrio by Mexico's Sigma Alimentos.

The comission ruled that the operation would not present any risks to free competition in the European Union market.

Sigma offered to buy all of Campofrio's shares in November last year, and currently controls 45 percent of the company.
