Mexico sets $1.4 billion for digital TV shift

The Mexican government plans to invest$1.49 billion to aid the transition to digital television in Mexico by the end of 2015, an official said.

Last week, Tijuana, a border city with the United States, became the first Mexican city to convert to Digital Land Television.Ç

The Northern cities of Monterrey, Ciudad Juarez, Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa and Matamoros are slated to make the transition on May 29, 2014.
