Mexico to overtake Japan in car sales to U.S.

Mexico is seen overtaking Japan in car exports to the United States this year, according to IHS Automotive.

Mexico's car exports to its neighbor of the north are expected to reach 1.69 million, surpassing Japan's 1.5 million.

By 2015, Mexico will export 1.9 million cars to the U.S., overtaking Canada as the number one exporter.
