Migrants’ remittances amount to 7.4 percent of Central America’s GDP

Central America and the Dominican Republic received $21.4 billion last year in migrants’ remittances to their families back home.
In addition, the value of remittances is growing fast, and they already account for 7.4 percent of the region’s GDP, and higher in Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras.
