Millions of dollars in investment for Honduran assembly plants

The in-bond assembly plants of Honduras, known as “maquilas”, are booming. By the end of this year, investment in the sector is expected to be $400 million.
“That includes two US textile plants that are expected to represent $275 million,” said Mario Canahuati, leader of the sector’s chamber, “and the construction of two industrial parks.”
