More jobs for women could cut poverty in Costa Rica

Costa Rica should provide more jobs for women as the best way to fight poverty, according to the State of the Nation report issued yesterday.

With the aid of assistance programs, jobs for all the nation's unemployed women would cut poverty in half, the report says.

Figures for the 2010-2017 period show that men have a 30 percent better change of obtaining a job, while unemployment among women has grown.
