More than 4 million go to the polls in El Salvador

Over 4 million Salvadorans are believed to have voted in Sunday’s’s elections to choose 84 new national lawmakers, 20 regional lawmakers –to the Central American Congress (Parlacen)– and 262 mayors.

No major incidents of vote disruptions were reported, although 25 people were arrested for using fake documents in order to vote.
