More than half Costa Ricans without Internet access

Fifty-three percent of the population of Costa Rica has no fixed-line or mobile Internet access, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

The figure means the country is number 72, out of 190, in the annual broadband report by the International Telecommunications Organization.

Infrastructure and regulations are the main challenges the country faces to improve its Internet access, said Fabio Masís, director of Infocom.
