Mortgage loans in Panama grow 14.6 percent

Mortgage loans in Panama grew 14.6 percent in the first quarter this year, compared with the same period in 2013, the country's bank superintendent said.

During the period, new mortgage loans reached $553.6 million.

Global Bank reported the largest growth in the sector among the country's top 10 banks, with a 32 percent growth in its mortgage portfolio.
