Movistar Panama offers unlocked phones

Movistar, subsidiary of Spain's Telefónica, became the first telecoms company in Panama to offer its customers SIM-free, or unlocked, smartphones.
"Customers should have the freedom to choose their communication services based on their needs," said Juan José Rodríguez, chief of Movistar Panama's Technical and Data Services.
Movistar is Panama's second mobile provider in the country, with a 38 percent market share.
