MWH Global lands $4.4 million contract for Panama Canal lake spillway design

US-based MWH Global has won a $4.4 million contract with the Panama Canal Authority.

MWH will provide preliminary and final design services for the new Gatun Lake spillway, which controls the lake’s water level.

The lake provides water for Panama City and flood protection, and also is involved in operating the navigation locks of the Panama Canal.
