Narcos in $1.5 million a month Guatemala gasoline racket

Monday, December 27, 2010

While Mexico is obliged to import ever more gasoline, the Zetas drug gangsters are smuggling it across the border to Guatemala.

Organized crime groups are earning about $1.5 million a month in the illicit cross-border business.

“They’re bringing in more than 1.5 gallons a month in trucks that are dangerous,” said Marcos González, representative of the Guatemalan gasoline retailers’ association.
