New free trade zone launches operations in Nicaragua

Thursday, February 14, 2013

A new free trade zone called Hansae Niquinohomo started operating in Nicaragua this week, with the opening of a garment factory.

The first group of employees has already started working, and over the next months the number will grow as the factory is still hiring.

"At the moment we have 500 employees and by next Monday we should have up to 400 more. We will continue hiring like this every week until we reach 1,000 workers in February, said Carlos Serrano, the factory's human resources manager.
