New law aims to shake up insurance in Guatemala

A new insurance law comes into effect on January 1 in Guatemala. Experts predict a wave of new products.
One of the advantages of the new law is that foreign insurers will be allowed to operate in the country. In addition a mass market will be developed.
Low-cost policies are expected to be offered to people who currently have no insurance.
