New Year holds key to El Salvador textile industry

Wednesday, December 29, 2010

Leaders of El Salvador’s garment and textile industries are expecting a government bill to reform the nation’s industrial free zones.

The bill is expected to be presented early in the New Year, along lines determined by the World Trade Organization, which forbids export incentives.

Currently, companies in the El Salvador free zones are exempt for income and value-added taxes, among other benefits.
