Nicaragua aims to boost gold production and sets a target of $418 million for exports

Nicaragua aims to increase its gold production by 15 percent this year.

If the increase is achieved, exports are likely to reach $418 million, said Karla Guerrero, director of the Nicaraguan mining chamber.

Guerrero said that Nicaragua produced 200,000 of ounces of gold last year; this year the target is to teach 230,000 ounces.
