Nicaragua aims to improve quality of sea cucumbers

Nicaragua has developed a brisk trade in exports of sea cucumbers to Asian countries, where the animals are a delicacy.

But last year, the price fell by about 20 percent because the Nicaraguan sea cucumbers were smaller than the market demands.

Now the government has stepped in with the aim of industrial fishery vessels that can ensure the quality and size of the product.
