Nicaragua boosted by $1.1 billion in foreign aid

Nicaragua received $1.1 billion in foreign aid last year, and alightly more than half of it went to the nation’s private sector, the Banco Central reported.

Aid now amounts to 8.7 percent of Nicaragua’s GDP, but the leading donor, Venezuela, is now in serious financial difficulties.
