Nicaragua boosted by internal consumption

Nicaragua's 5.2-percent growth in the first quarter this year was due to an increase in internal demand, said Iván Acosta, Nicaragua's Minister for Finance.

He added that internal consumption also helped balance the drop in the country's exports.

"Internal consumption, construction and garment are all starting to show signs of recovery," he said.
