Nicaragua economy slows down

Tuesday, July 15, 2014

Nicaragua's economic activity index grew 4.3 percent from January to May this year, the country's central bank said.

The figure shows a slower performance compared with the 5.2 percent for the same period last year.

The bank attributed the slowdown to a drop in basic grains and sugar cane production.
