Nicaragua forecasts $2 billion in exports of textiles and others from free zones this year

The Nicaraguan government forecasts $2 billion in exports this year from its free zones along with 3,000 new jobs to bring the workforce to 100,000.

The presidential representative on investment, Álvaro Baltodano, said textile exports are expected to reach $1.4 billion, while ignition wiring harnesses shoiuld pull in $150 million.

The remainder of the $2 billion is expected to consist of cigars, farmed shrimp, palm oil and footwear.
