Nicaragua is becoming Costa Rica's main commercial partner in the region

 

Nicaragua and Costa Rica could hardly be regarded as good neighbors. Even so, Nicaragua is fast becoming Costa Rica’s leading trade partner in the region.

Annual growth in trade between the two countries was 5 percent from 2011 to 2915, but investment has been slow to take hold.
