Nicaragua loses $44 million to informal firms

Nicaragua loses $44 million each year due to some 550,000 informal companies.

If each of those companies formalized their operations and payed taxes, the country would increase its revenue by $88 million.

Most informal companies are small and medium, according to the Inter-American Development Bank.
