Nicaragua nears coffee goals despite rust plague

Nicaragua could reach its coffee production goals for this year's harvest, despite the impact of the coffee rust plague that has affected the region.

According to the country's agriculture ministry, coffee production is currently at 97 percent of its goals.

In regions such as Jinotega and Matagalpa, producers have reported some 1.3 million 60-kilo bags of coffee.
