Nicaragua prepares agricultural exports to Europe

At least ten companies from the Nicaraguan agricultural sector are getting ready for moderate export to the European market, as part of a program from the Dutch Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries, CBI.

"We have focused on the food industry because it's where we see the most potential for Nicaragua in the European market," said Erik Plaisier, program manager of the CBI for Latin America.

The Nicaraguan companies involved in this project belong to the fresh fruits sector, such as dragon fruit, roots and tubers, processed fruits, chia seeds, honey, cocoa, coffee and processed foods sectors.
