Nicaragua promotes footwear industry

Nicaragua continues to work hard in its efforts to attract investment to, and maintain, its footwear production industry.

The manufacturing industry in Nicaragua is one of the country's most important economic engines, contributing to around 15 percent of gross domestic product.

The footwear industry has had a positive impact on the country's economy, generating around 650 jobs under the free-zones regime and producing around 4,000 pairs daily.
