Nicaragua receives green light for $6 billion refinery

The construction of a $6 billion oil refinery was approved by the National Assembly of Nicaragua.

The government of Venezuela, along with Venezuela's state oil company PDVSA, will finance 51 percent of the project.

The refinery will have a capacity of 150,000 barrels of crude per day, and the project also includes a pipeline that will connect the Pacific and Atlantic coasts.
