Nicaragua’s free-zone plants set a record in job creation

The number of workers in the free zones of Nicaragua rose to 92,000 by the end of June.\

The number amounted to a record, and a year-on-year increase of 23.5 percent.\
\
The free-zone plants, most of them textile or garment factories, exported $395.9 million in the first quarter of this year, a 43.7 percent increase on the same period of 2010.\
