Nicaragua's mining exports rise by 20 percent

Nicaragua's mining industry recorded a 20 percent increase in exports in the first half of the year compared with the same period of last year.

Last year, mining produced $352 million in exports and this year's forecast is for $400 million.

In the first half of this year, exports came to $198.5 million, a $40 million increase on the same period of 2011.
