Nicaragua's sugarcane production up 30 percent

Sugarcane was Nicaragua's top performing crop from January to August this year, according to the country's central bank.

Output of sugarcane grew more than 30 percent year on year.

Sugarcane producers are increasing the land used to grow the crop, the bank said.
