Nicaragua's tobacco industry to grow 20 percent

Nicaragua's tobacco industry grew 40 percent in 2013, and this year is expected to grow a further 20 percent, said Alejandro Martínez Cuenca, director of the Nicaraguan Tobacconist Association.

Last year, the country sold some 140 million cigars that reached $227 million.

Nicaragua exports cigars to 77 countries, including the U.S., China and Europe.
