Nicaragua ships 45,000 tons of sugar to Venezuela
Nicaragua is sending this week the first of three shipments totaling 45,000 tons of sugar as part of the food security initiative of the Bolivarian Alliance for our Americas, ALBA.
The first Venezuelan ship sailed from Nicaragua’s Puerto Corinto yesterday and two more ships will come for the remaining cargo this week and next.
It is also the first time shipping has been done through a state-owned Venezuelan, Venevega, as opposed to private shipping companies.
