Nicaragua stands out in renewable energy

Nicaragua is among the top 20 countries in the world with the most investment in renewable energy, according to the Renewables 2014 Global Status report, by Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century, REN21.

The Central American country has invested $1.5 billion in the last seven years in renewable projects.

On a global scale, investments in renewables have reached $214 billion, 14 percent more than in 2012.
