Nicaragua: streamlining procedures for investors

Friday, December 6, 2013

Now that Nicaragua is part of a multilateral Convention, companies can send documents to another member state of the Convention, without the cumbersome process of authenticading from the relevant authorities, including the consulate of the country to which the document is being sent.

Likewise, companies in countries which subscribes to the Convention can save time and money, by sending documens with a so-called apostille, which will be recognized in Nicaragua.

The apostille is a seal, which can obtained (usually at no cost) in a local office of the NIcaraguab Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Nicaragua since May 14, 2013 adheres to the Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents.
