Nicaragua to be under watchful eyes of IMF

A mission of the International Monetary Fund is to visit Nicaragua in order to conclude "pending tasks".

In its last visit, the Fund urged President Daniel Ortega to instrument policies that would re-establish the private sector's confidence because "it is essential to the recovery of the economy".

This week the National Police rejected a request by business leaders to hold a march to back a dialogue over a possible resolution to the current crisis.
