Nicaragua to insist on TPL extension with U.S.

Nicaragua will continue to insist on an extension to its Tariff Prefential Level agreement with the U.S., said Álvaro Baltodano, presidential delegate for investment.

But Nicaragua will have to wait for the U.S. Congress to add the agreement, which expires in December, to its agenda.

If the accord is not extended, Nicaragua's garment sector faces the loss of some 7,000 jobs.
