Nicaragua unlikely to grow 5 percent

Wednesday, August 6, 2014

The Nicaraguan government said it is impossible for the country to grow 5 percent this year, as forecast this week by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, ECLAC.

The country's central bank maintains its forecast of 4 to 4.5 percent.

The bank said it will maintain its forecast due to the effects of drought in agriculture and a less dynamic construction sector.
