Nicaraguan to make electricity from rubbish

Nicaragua will be the first country in Central America to generate electricity from rubbish, through an investment from Spanish company Biomasa Investment Nicaragua, Binicsa.

Binicsa will invest $150 million for the construction of rubbish processing plants that will then generate energy.

The project will start in 10 cities, including the capital Managua, and is being promoted by the government's investment promotion agency, ProNicaragua.
