Nicaraguan trade boosted by Mexico accord

The unified free trade agreement between Central America and Mexico helped significantly boost Nicaragua's trade, according to the Mexican embassy in Managua.

The embassy said 2012 was the year bilateral trade between Mexico and Nicaragua reached its maximum levels, showing a 58 percent growth compared to a year earlier.

Nicaragua exported goods worth $722 million last year to Mexico, while imports reached $154 million.
