Nike Logistics Center in Honduras

Monday, August 29, 2016

Nike expects to create up to 25,000 jobs in a logistics center in San Pedro Sula, from which products will be shipped to other destinations, especially the United States.

The Honduras facility may become a production facility, while at the same time serving as a distribution operation for products imported from Asia.

San Pedro, located an hour from the port of Cortes, will be Nike’s first logistics center in Latin America.

Honduran free-zone exports last year were valued at over $4 billion, while creating close to 150,000 direct jobs, according to the free-zone association.

Nike last May completed its fifth expansion of a logistics center in Belgium, from which it serves 38 countries.

The company also has centers in China, as well as the United States.

One of the world’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of sports equipment, Nike, Inc. last year had revenues of more than $32 billion.

The headquarters of the company, founded in 1964, is in Beaverton, Oregon.
