Northern Triangle 'could generate $6.5 billion in trade'

Wednesday, September 19, 2018

The Customs union of the countries of the Northern Triangle -- Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador could move trade of $6.5 billion a year among the region, said Walter Miranda, a fiscal specialist of the Central American economic alliance, SIECA.

Miranda said that costs will fall as a result of the union, and that would mean companies exporting more goods than ever before.

He added: "Companies that have never exported to Guatemala and Honduras and vice-versa have already begun to do so."
