Northern Triangle forges customs union

Monday, August 20, 2018

The presidents of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras are going to meet to launch their customs union.

The meeting of the three leaders of what is known as Central America's Northern Triangle is to be held at Corinto, a Honduran customs post on the border with Guatemala.

"These three neighboring countries have reached a tremendous level of trade. Hundreds of products are being exchanged among us and, as does trade increase, so do the economies and hence more job opportunities are created, said Salvador Sánchez Cerén, president of El Salvador.
