Norway's Statoil expands Colombia operations

Norwegian oil firm Statoil has expanded its presence by acquiring two licences for exploration and deepwater projects from Spain's Repsol.

Statoil will buy 10 percent of Repsol in Tyrona, a field operated by Brazil's Petrobras that includes the Orca-1 exploration well.

The Norwegian firm will also buy 20 percent of Repsol's Guajira Offshore 1 project.
