Obama's billion-dollar bet is in danger

The $1 billion requested by Barack Obama to the US Congress to solve problems in Central America’s Northern Triangle of Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador is in danger.

the State department’s Latin America chief, Roberta Jacobson, warned that Congress could reduce the amount substantially. And that, she added, would be a recipe for disaster.
