Odebrecht cashes in on tax breaks with Colon project

Tax breaks being offered to the consortium that was awarded the contract to redevelop Colón in Panama are coming under scrutiny.

The tax breaks, approved under the previous government, allow exemptions for the import of material and equipment for projects. But the law was aimed at private investors, and not those receiving government contracts, such as Odebrecht.
