Only 21 percent of Hondurans has a bank account
Some 1.6 million, of Honduras's 8.5 million population, have a bank account, most of which are men.
The information comes from a recent study by the World Bank, which concluded that only 21 percent of Hondurans have a bank account.
The report shows that up to 2011, 8 percent of account holders used it to receive their wages, 2 percent for government payments and 4 percent to receive remittances.
