Opening of expanded Panama Canal faces delay

The inauguration of the Panama Canal's expansion is likely to be delayed by about six months.

The problem is that the Panama Canal Authority climbs that the cement being used by the contractors is not of the specified quality.

The international consortium of contractors is counter-claiming that the authority has varied the schedule, thus adding some $500 million to the $5.2 billion bill for the job.
