Ormat buys Honduras geothermal plan from Geotermica

Ormat Technologies, the US unit of the largest Israeli developer of geothermal power, agreed to buy a project in Honduras from Geotermica Platanares.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Platanares project, the first geothermal plant in Honduras, has a contract to sell as much as 35 megawatts of power to national utility Empresa Nacional de Energia Electrica, Ormat said.
