Panama aims to become gateway to Latin America

Panama's government is investing $877 million in the construction, extension and modernization of its airports, of which Tocumen is the biggest.

Tocumen handles 8 million passengers a year.

Panama's Tourism Authority reported that the investment will make Tocumen as the leading "hub of the Americas".
